Running

So I have now 2 races and I have been slack as to give the update, but here it is.
The first race was a mile road race, net downhill, first quarter downhill then up, then back down to the half and then flat and my winning kick to break the course record and the bonus winnings. $200 bucks for my 4.44 of running - which people have been working what that is per hr etc - wouldn't it be nice to have that income! lol
anyway here are the results

we did not race with the guys, they separated them, but mixed the results.
The major issue with this course is that it goes over a train tack half way. They have all the officials making sure the trains have gone and check everything so that we don't get caught, however this year there was an unscheduled train for the last bunch of the women races.

Mike also raced and he was 3rd picking up 50 bucks, so it was a good day for us both.

2nd race was this weekend, no money for this one. It is a relay called Ocean to Sound, so we start at Jones beach and loop our way up to the North Shore of the Island, 50miles end up in Oyster Bay. There are 8 people per team, there are open Men and open Women and then mixed teams and masters.
They also have a costume award and the winner were the Nintendo players who ran in Mario and friends outfits and in the carts they race in. so they had boxes around them for their legs which average around 6miles.

Here are the results, I was the Sayville women's team, 12th overall and I was the 7th leg.
We won the Women's division.

Sorry No pics.

Mikes team was the overall winners, with all sorts of drama going on in their races, the team originally leading got lost and then Mikes team did also. Officials are mainly lazy long island police and have no idea what is really going on and markers you have to hunt for. so its all about getting your team to the finish without getting lost. That's why we followed our runners the whole way and why Mikes teams getting lost wasn't too bad, even tho they were following there runner too. Mike also ran leg 7.

That's all for now, off for a work out
